Featured Partner: GeoRock

Our commitment to inclusivity continues to guide every step of the contracting process for our new Judicial and Administrative Complex. This project is opening doors for local, small, and historically underutilized businesses*, fostering a stronger, more resilient, and more inclusive Rockdale County.

This month, we’re proud to feature GeoRock, a Rockdale County-based, certified minority-owned business specializing in the extraction of dimension stone and landscape rock. The company’s granite—sourced from a distinctive geological formation in Rockdale County, the same formation as the well-known Stone Mountain in suburban Atlanta—is truly one of a kind. In fact, GeoRock operates the only facility in the world capable of extracting this unique stone. The material is 100% American and fully compliant for Build America, Buy America projects across the country.

Using environmentally friendly, state-of-the-art extraction methods that require no blasting, GeoRock exemplifies technological innovation and sustainability. We’re thrilled to incorporate this locally sourced Rockdale stone into the new complex, reinforcing our focus on supporting the communities where we live and work.

“The Rockdale County team has been a pleasure to work with. From the inception of our business to the ribbon cutting by Governor Brian Kemp in 2025, everyone in the County understands the lasting benefits of our operation to Rockdale County and the State of Georgia and supported us every step of the way. We look forward to continuing to partner with them in the decades ahead.” – GeoRock representative.

As we watch the new structures take shape, we remain dedicated to providing equitable opportunities that uplift local businesses, drive economic growth, and strengthen our community. We’re proud to partner with GeoRock—and other certified local and Equal Business Opportunity (EBO) companies—as we build a brighter, more inclusive future together.

* Historically underutilized businesses means at least 51% of the independent company or corporation’s stock is owned by one or more minority persons or socially and economically disadvantaged individuals who are a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States. We’re empowering these companies through the Equal Business Opportunity Program.
